Connectivity Solutions for Ultra-Low Temperature Dilution Refrigerators

Rosenberger understands the current and future challenges with Quantum Computing hardware. To reduce the effects of thermal fluctuations, electromagnetic radiation, and magnetic fields with the refrigeration system, we offer a wide range of solutions for cryostatic applications. In addition to our robust product portfolio, Rosenberger also possesses state-of-the-art precision manufacturing capabilities, for nearly unlimited custom solutions as the requirements for higher number of connections, smaller connectors and also multichannel connectors will be more important for the future.

The same requirements exist for hermetic adaptors, attenuators, cable assemblies, and flanges. Rosenberger strives to provide the best in class components or complete sub-systems for any Dilution Refrigerator installation.

Quantum computers are still in their early stages of development, but they have the potential to revolutionize many different fields, such as chemistry, materials science, and cryptography. For example, quantum computers could be used to simulate the behavior of molecules, which could help scientists to design new drugs and treatments for diseases, to design new materials with properties that are not possible with current materials, and will no doubt play a significant role in the continued development of Artificial Intelligence. Rosenberger is on the forefront of technology and innovation, working closely with our partners to continue to develop new products to help push boundries and new discoveries.

Connectivity Solutions for Quantum Computing

Providing reliable connections and predictable RF performance can be a challenge at sub-kelvin temperatures. Partnering with the right technology leader will reduce the amount of time, effort, and money otherwise spent in development and production.

Featuring sophisticated, modular, and reliable RF solutions that connect critical systems inside & outside the dilution refrigerator, Rosenberger's Quantum Technology solutions are built for the future.

Connector Hardware

Quantum computing hardware connectors are a critical component of quantum computers. They are used to connect the different components of a quantum computer, such as the qubits, the control electronics, and the readout electronics. Quantum computers operate at very low temperatures, so the connectors must be able to withstand these temperatures. They must also be non-magnetic, as even a small amount of magnetism can interfere with the qubits. Additionally, the connectors must be able to operate at high frequencies, as quantum computers require high-speed data transfer.

Standard Portfolio

A wide range of Rosenberger standard products are used from many customers in this application field:

  • PCB Connectors
  • Cable connectors
  • Hermetic feedthrough adaptors
  • Adaptors
  • Attenuators
  • Semi-rigid cable assemblies
  • Semi-flex cable assemblies
  • Flexible cable assemblies

In some cases, non-magnetic parts are also available.

Hermetic Flanges

Hermetically sealed adaptor flanges are designed & produced to minimize decoherence within the dilution chambers. Rosenberger is a leader in precision machining and glass-to-metal seals, using a wide range of materials and plating specifications to ensure ideal performance.

Specified leakage rate up to ≤ 10-8 mbar * l/s and 100% fine leakage test are possible, as well as multi-channel flanges.
